Guides Installation guide Step 5 of 7

Get the pack and install it

You've got the harness and Git. Now the actual pack: your agent's brain, skills, and knowledge base, in a single download. You don't have to unzip anything or set up folders yourself. You hand the file to your harness and ask it to do the work.

1

Buy it and download the zip

The Divergent Starter Pack is a one-time $77. After you pay, download the zip file. You don't need to unzip it yourself. Leave it as is.

2

Open a new chat in your harness

Launch Codex or Claude Code and start a fresh chat, the same as if you were about to ask it a question. That's all you need open.

3

Attach the zip and ask it to install

Attach the downloaded zip to the chat (the same way you'd attach a file to an email), and put in this prompt:

Help me install my agent.

Not sure what that looks like? Expand the example for your harness.

Let it set up your agent's home

It unpacks the pack and builds your agent's home folder for you. It'll ask where you'd like that folder to live. For most people, your usual Documents folder is perfectly fine, pick that and move on. There's just one case where the location matters, below.

If you're going to use Obsidian Sync

Obsidian Sync is the best way to view and edit your agent's knowledge base on your phone and other devices, and it keeps everything in step across them. If you plan to use it, put your agent's home somewhere that isn't already synced by another cloud service, like iCloud Drive, Dropbox, or OneDrive. Two sync systems fighting over the same folder can garble files and cause conflicts, so let Obsidian Sync be the only one looking after it.

A safe spot on each system:

  • Mac: your home folder. In Finder, open a new window and look under Locations in the sidebar for the one with a house icon and your name (if you don't see it, it lives at Macintosh HD / Users / your name). This is not your Documents or Desktop folder, since those are often synced to iCloud.
  • Windows: a folder on your C:\ drive, such as C:\Agent. Avoid your Documents or Desktop folder, since those are often synced to OneDrive.

When it's done, it points you to your agent's new home folder. To bring your agent to life, start a new conversation in your harness and select that folder.

It sets itself up

The first time you message your agent in that new conversation, it wires up its own workspace so its skills work in whichever harness you chose. This is automatic. If it asks to run its setup, say yes. It takes a few seconds. Then you're ready to meet it, which is the next step.

No file-wrangling required

You never have to unzip the file or hunt through folders. The harness reads the zip and does all of that for you. If it asks a question along the way, just answer in plain language.

Stuck or need help?

Send a message and it comes straight to me. Tell me where you got stuck and I'll write back.

Rather have it done for you?

If following the steps yourself isn't how your brain works today, that's fine. On a Zoom call you share your screen and hand me control, and I set it up for you, right there on your own computer. You watch it come together and end the call with a working setup, nothing left on your plate.

Pick a time below. No pitch, no pressure, no homework beforehand.
